Off-Grid, Clean Energy Solutions for Remote Natural Gas Well Sites

Introducing: The Tazman Turbinz Generator

Reliable, 24/7 Off-Grid, Electric Power Generation and Greenhouse Gas Reduction at Remote Natural Gas Well Sites

Clean Energy Solutions for Natural Gas Well Sites

The patented Tazman Turbinz In-Pipe Turbine Generator (IPTG) system is designed to provide electricity at remote locations of natural gas well sites lacking commercial power. It generates electric power using the flow of gas through the pipeline without fossil fuel combustion or consumption or emissions of greenhouse gases.

How It Works:

Tazman Turbinz In-Pipe Turbine Generator (IPTG) is an electric generator contained in a 2-foot section of 6-inch stainless steel pipe.

It is installed using industry-standard flanges. Feed piping may be flanged up or down to that size. The generator is CRN (Canadian Registration Number)-certified to operate at its rated pressures, and each unit is hydro-tested at the factory. All materials used in the construction of the IPTG are NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers)-compliant for use in the presence of sour gas (H2S).

Magnetic flux generated by the rotation of magnets within the IPTG produces electric current in coils mounted around the exterior of the pipe. The generator outputs electric power through an umbilical cable to its control box that is conveniently mounted near the batteries and SCADA system.

The generator is designed to withstand the challenging conditions of natural gas well sites. Gas flow that includes water, sand, ice, oil, hydrogen sulfide, or various particulates will not harm the generator. The coils are completely isolated from the natural gas within the pipe and the surrounding atmosphere. The Tazman Turbinz Generator is certified for hazardous location (Class I, Division 1) applications under Canadian Standards Association (CSA) and other applicable standards.

Remote Monitoring

The Tazman Turbinz Generator output can be monitored remotely through the existing site SCADA system or a dedicated monitoring system. Tazman Turbinz has designed a control cabinet including a battery charge controller. The output voltage can be set to 12VDC or 24VDC.
The control cabinet monitors generator performance and battery charge status and transmits the data to the gas well / pipe operator.

Benefits of the Tazman Turbinz Generator

The Tazman Turbinz Generator overcomes the drawbacks of intermittent renewable power sources such as solar panels and wind turbines, as well as thermal-electric generators, diesel generators, and combustion turbine generators. It requires less maintenance, is resistant to damage, and burns no fuel, reducing the site’s environmental footprint. The Tazman Turbinz Generator is designed to produce power 24 hours a day and is maintenance-free for extended periods.

The Tazman Turbinz Generator requires fewer batteries compared to some alternative power sources, which reduces up-front costs of implementation. This economic advantage gains in significance over the life of the installation when batteries often require replacement due to damage or theft.
